76mm guns and the rounds fired from them had less HE and smoke performance than the previous generations 75mm rounds so it's not a total loss.
The 76mm as I understand it was the american answer to the question of why weren't their rounds scoring reliable penetrations against heavier german armour that had be plaguing their tank crews for years.

Correct, based off the british Sherman Firefly gun. I have a history major who loves WWII stuff explain a lot of this crap to me.
Would have been great for all of those poor crewmen if the US Army Ordinance Department had tested the weapon properly and not accepted the word of mouth on the effectiveness of British 6 pdr cannon firing from close range at the face hardened side armour of a Tiger.

When tanks are 1 Million ISK or more they certainly are not affordable or profitable, if they are for you that is a result of you being in a PC corporation and likely a long term veteran who already has far too much ISK for their own good right now.
